Pre-workout drink


Finishing work quite late I have often fallen asleep on the sofa when I have got home. The feeling when you wake up is not a good one. The temptation is to miss your workout. I have never done this - I would feel worse. However, by pure accident I discovered a drink that withing 5 minutes of a couple of sips made me totally in the mood to lift weights. The drink is 'Cherry Pepsi Max.' I have googled whether anyone else uses Pepsi Max and a few have mentioned that they do because of the high caffeine content. Recently I have mixed my Pepsi Max with 'cherries and berries squash' and one 'cherry flavoured vitamin C pill' in a pint bottle of water.


I have noticed:

  1. I feel totally in the mood to train (however tired or late)

  2. I like the cherry flavour (like a non-alcoholic cocktail)

  3. The vitamin C is good for you



I realise it sounds like an excuse to have a cherry flavoured drink but because of the strength of the cocktail I have bounced into the gym with a tasty enthusiasm. It is also quite cheap (unlike some of the pre-workout drinks that advertise themselves as such!).
