Home Garage Gym

As I said in my introduction my father had a gym built over his garage. This was actually an additional floor to the house as the garage was connected to one side. More than forty years later I have a garage but it is not able to have a gym built above it. All the garage was useful for was storing junk that for some reason I thought would one day become useful! Also, my Vauxhall Grandland doesn't fit in the garage and so it is basically an extra room waiting to be made useful. I still had not joined a gym since the 2018 closure of Skyline gym in Catford. I had been doing weights indoors but this was starting to leave scratches on my wooden floor tiles. So when my brother said he needed space to store his bodymax weights and equipment I jumped at the chance, knowing that the garage would be perfect. Since putting the equipment in the garage I have moved everything around several times until it is perfect. You don't think about these things when you are a member of a gym but there is a certain amount of space required on either side of the bar, especially if you need to hold the plates with two hands. Also when you do chin ups you need a certain height in order to get the full range of movement. One thing I am considering is rubber tiles as the concrete garage floor is very dirty and dusty and that can transfer back into the house. Here are some photos so far:
